According to Todd Zolecki’s twitter feed, the Phillies have activated Relief pitcher Clay Condrey from the DL and designated Tyler Walker for assignment.
Tyler Walker was 1-0 in 9 games this year pitching 11 innings to a 1.64 ERA, my guess is someone picks him up.
Condrey was 4-2 with a 3.71 ERA in 33 games this year (34 IP) before being injured.

Pedro Martinez has been placed on the 15 day DL by the Philadelphia Phillies with a mild shoulder strain.
This is weird, as he literally just signed, I would think they could have just had him making rehab starts, but according to the ESPN article, they haven’t decided when or where those starts will take place, so maybe there is an actual injury. Makes this signing kinda odd.

I'm just bein cautious!
According to Beerleaguer, Raul Ibanez will sit out a potential rehab start in Reading tonight. The Philadelphia Inquirer goes further in saying earlier today with a quote from Ibanez that this is not a setback, that he only wants to make sure he is healthy for the entire season, not just a series against the Mets.

Bastardo to 15 day DL
The National League East’s injury problems continued yesterday as the Philadelphia Phillies made a move many were expecting by sending rookie LHP Antonio Bastardo to the disabled list according to ESPN. He will be retroactived until his last start on Thursday and this trip to the DL is because of a strained shoulder suffered during that outting against the Rays. For the time being Sergio Escalona is back with the big league club, but speculation by many, including here at NLEC is that one of AAA prospects Carrasco or Carpenter will be called up for Bastardo’s start on Thursday. You have to wonder if depending how the prospects do in his absence if this intensifies efforts for a trade, stayed tuned to NLEC for more.

According to the Philadelphia Daily News and Yahoo.com, Brad Lidge has said he is ready to return from the disabled list. He threw a scoreless inning in a rehab assignment on Tuesday night and hopes to be activated Wednesday. There is no official word on when he will be activated though. Check back for updates.

Condrey to the DL?
Phillies RP Clay Condrey is likely headed to the DL according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com. Condrey has apparently been bothered by a strained left oblique and he would be the 3rd Phillies closer on the disabled list joining Eyre and Lidge. Condrey is 4-2 with a 3.71 ERA this season in 33 games. A decision will be made before Tuesdays game, check back for updates.
Update 11:36AM: Condrey WILL be placed on the DL prior to today’s game. Sergio Escalona will be called up for the 4th time this season. This is according to Beerleaguer and Jayson Start of ESPN
The Phillies home troubles continued this past weekend by losing another three games to the Orioles. The Philadelphia Phillies(36-31, 1st in NL East) have now lost 8 of their last 9 and have dropped to 13-22 at home. They will travel to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Rays(37-34, 4th in AL East) who took the final two games from the Mets in Citi Field this weekend. This weekend is a rematch of the World Series in 2008, but the Phillies are just happy to get away from home.
