Quick Hits

- Compared to his statistics from this year, Kyle Skipworth had a great day. That might be a sad statement, but it’s the truth. Granted, we all know the kid 19 years old. I think we just get spoiled with the likes of Stanton, Morrison, etc. Back to Skipworth, he barely hit over the Mendoza line in Rookie League last year and he’s had similar numbers this year in Greensboro. Hopefully, patience will be the right choice for our first round choice in the 2008 draft. He’s hitting .202/.257/.326 in 2009 with 5 home runs 31 runs batted in.

-Anibal Sanchez made his second rehab start in Rookie League. He has now pitched 5.2 innings in those two starts. Although he didn’t give up any earned runs in his first start, he gave up an earned run and walked two tonight. Still too early to tell if he will return to the majors, but many of the signs (which may just be rumors) are pointing to Anibal’s days in a Marlins uniform are numbered. But we will see. Again, he hasn’t been off the 60 day DL for long.
