| Welcome to Chatter Up! again here at NLEC. This week we bring in The Real Dirty Mets Blog for the first time. First up is Chatter Up veteran Matt Fournier of The Braves Baseball Blog, lets get to it! |
| Matt R(NLEC): With McClouth on the dl and prado ailing, where are the expectations for the braves now? |
| Matt F(BBB): I still think the pitching staff will lead them to where they want to go and that is the playoffs. If the pitching is there it shouldn’t be to bad, their just really going to need some clutch hitting from players like Garrett Anderson and Chipper and Brian McCann. But honestly I think the expectations have dwindled with McClouth going down, but all signs point that they are still firing on all cylinders. |
| DirtySanchez(TRDMB): Where does Tim Hudson slot in the rotation when he’s back? How have the trades made helped the team this year and beyond? |
| Matt F(BBB): Well as for Timmy right now I think theyll give him Kenshin’s spot, as much as he has been consistent he hasn’t been good enough in my opinion so I think they’ll look to Hudson to fill that spot. The trades made this year will be beneficial down the road as I think McClouth can be a solid lead off hitter for years to come and getting LaRoche back was a good move I think as you add some power. The pitching speaks for itself in the results. |
| DirtySanchez(TRDMB): Do the braves have any replacement for Chipper Jones once he hangs up his cleats? |
| Matt F(BBB): Martin Prado can play 3b. So I feel that would be the safest bet, he doesnt have the bat like Chipper, but he seems to becoming along nicely in my mind. |
| MrNorthJersey(NLEC): Can you recall your best and worst “Mets vs Braves” moment? |
| Matt F(BBB): Hnmmm, tough one because I’m pretty young, but it would probably be how the Braves dominated the Mets for some many years. The Braves would win the division and Mets would settle for the wildcard I like seeing my teams dominate. |
| Matt R(NLEC): Mets hitter and pitcher that scares you |
| Matt F(BBB): Pitcher Johan, they don’t got anyone else haha sorry guys. And for hitter hmmm not a good list to choose from as well, but I’m going to stick with Angel Pagan because he can do so much. |

| Matt S(PP): With David Wright’s recent injury, have Mets fans officially thrown in the towel on the season? While the injury excuse is legitimate, do you fear personnel changes will not be made because of all the injuries? |
| DirtySanchez(TRDMB): well…im sure you know my answer to the first one already loll |
| Matt R(NLEC): Who is the best candidate to be fired? GM? Manager? Medical staff? |
| DirtySanchez(TRDMB): I think right now it has to be the GM. I believe the Mets will give a pass on the medical staff due to the diversity of the injuries but the fact that the mets have increased payroll every year for 5yrs and have nothing but a division championship to show for it cannot bode well for omar minaya. Coupled with the AdamRubin debacle….Omar may have seen his last days as GM. |
| Matt R(NLEC): Can the Mets even afford to move Livan out of the rotation? Who would take his spot? |
| DirtySanchez(TRDMB): I believe they can afford to take him out when you have Figueroa that is capable of a good game. Yes his first outing was horrendous to say the least, but his second one was much better and it was against the same team. Livan historically has worse numbers in the second half and i hope Jerry is thinking about maybe spot starting him. Problem is Jerry has a tendency to forget who plays on the team. |

| DirtySanchez(TRDMB): Best moment for me was the Mike Piazza hr after sept 11…very emotional. Worst moment…every game at turner field lol |

| DirtySanchez(TRDMB): Well hitter its obvious…Chipper Jones. Pitcher that scares me the most…Tim Hudson for me..that guy is flat out awesome against us. |
